BigFish eCommerce Source Repository (SVN)

  • To checkout the source code, simply use the following commands:
    • BF Version 1.23: $ svn co http://bigfish.solveda.com:81/svn/bigfish/version/release1.23
    • BF Version 1.21: $ svn co http://bigfish.solveda.com:81/svn/bigfish/version/release1.21
    • BF Version 1.18: $ svn co http://bigfish.solveda.com:81/svn/bigfish/version/release1.18
  • Minimum Requirements
    • The latest Ofbiz installed:
    • Checkout Subversion (SVN)
      • Release 12.04: $ svn co http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/ofbiz/branches/release12.04
      • Release 11.04: $ svn co http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/ofbiz/branches/release11.04
      • Release 10.04: $ svn co http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/ofbiz/branches/release10.04

Installer Instructions

  • 1. Minimum Requirements
    • Make sure you have Java 1.6 (minimum) SDK installed
    • JAVA_HOME environment variable set to point to the JDK install location
    • MySql Server 5.1
  • 2. Download Installer
    • Click Here to install BigFish
    • Note: The Installer option is only available for Windows Users.
  • 3. Run the installer
    • This will run a standard installation. Follow the instructions on screen. The installer will install the following components:
      • Ofbiz 12.04
      • BigFish eCommerce
      • BigFish eCommerce Administration Site
      • BigFish eCommerce Fashion House Demo
  • 4. Start the server
  • 5. Load BigFish 'Demo' Data
    • Go to *INSTALL-DIRECTORY*\hot-deploy\osafe\data and retrieve file "ClientProductImport.xls".
    • Go to BigFish eCommerce Administration Site (https://localhost:8443/osafe-admin/control/main)
    • Navigate to Admin -> Admin Tools -> Product Delete Tool. Press "Delete Products" button. Confirm deletion.
    • Navigate to Admin -> Feeds -> Product Loader from BigFish Format File. Browse and select the retrieved ClientProductImport.xls and press "Product Loader" button. On product loader preview screen, press "Load Products" button.
    • In order to load content, go to *INSTALL-DIRECTORY*\osafe_deployment\ofbiz\hot-deploy\osafe\data and retrieve file "bigfish-content-export.xml".
    • Go to Apache Ofbiz Webtools (https://localhost:8443/webtools/control/main)
    • Under "Entity Xml Tools", click the link for "XML Data Import. In the text area, remove existing text and then copy in all the contents of the bigfish-content-export.xml file. Press "Import Text" button.
    • In order for Demo Products to be displayed on your BigFish eCommerce Site, go to BigFish eCommerce Administration Site and navigate to Admin -> Admin Tools -> Solr Indexing. Press the "Solar Re-Index" button and wait untill you recieve a success message. Products should now appear on your BigFish eCommerce Site.
    • Navigate to Admin -> Admin Tools -> SEO Friendly URL. Press the "SEO Friendly URL Refresh" button.

      • The BigFish eCommerce solution is available under the Apache V2.0 License
    • 1. Time
      • The complete install process should take no more than 20 minutes, assuming all runs smoothly!
    • 2. Minimum Requirements
      • Apache Ofbiz 10.04 - 12.04
        • Make sure you have Java 1.6 (minimum) SDK installed
      • Apache Ofbiz 13.07
        • Make sure you have Java 1.7 (minimum) SDK installed
      • MySql Server 5.1
      • Windows (not yet fully certified on Linux)
    • 3. Overview
      • BigFish provides two new components and two new themes, one for each component
      • OSAFE
        • This stands for OFBiz Solveda Application Framework for E-Commerce
        • This component is the equivalent of copying the OFBiz ecommerce component just like you would normally do to create your own ecommerce implementation.
        • However, OSAFE has been built to be usable OOTB and applies a proven, standardized approach ecommerce.
        • This includes page layouts, checkout process, etc.
        • This component also includes Solr integration for search and faceted navigation.
      • OSAFE-ADMIN
        • This component provides a highly refined and usable back office interface to OFBiz.
        • It allows the end user/business user to control and manage the ecommerce website.
        • This includes order management, content management to drive pre-defined content spots on website, and more
      • THEMES: for OSAFE and OSAFE-ADMIN themes, each component has its own theme.
    • 4. Download Ofbiz
    • 5. Download and Install MySQL
    • 6. Download BigFish eCommerce
      • Download BigFish eCommerce from SVN: $ svn co http://bigfish.solveda.com:81/svn/bigfish/version/release1.23
      • Download BigFish eCommerce from .zip: http://feedback.solveda.com/website/downloads/BigFish-deployment-v1.23.zip
      • Unpack BigFish eCommerce to the same INSTALL-DIRECTORY as in step 1.
        • For ex: c:\Ofbiz
      • Accept 'Yes' to the prompt to 'overwrite' the build.xml file.
    • 7. Download BigFish Default Theme
    • *** If downloaded Ofbiz 13.07: Apply Bigfish files to make Bigfish compatible with Ofbiz 13.07 ***
    • 8. MySql Administration
      • Create a new schema with the name 'bigfishdemo'.
      • Create a new user with the name 'bigfish' and password 'bigfish'
      • Assign 'all' available privileges to the 'bigfish' user for the 'bigfishdemo' schema.
      • Note: To edit the BigFish eCommerce MySql connection parameters, edit the following properties in the client-deployment.properties file located in your '//INSTALL-DIRECTORY\apache-ofbiz-10.04\osafe_deployment' directory.
        • database.name = bigfish
        • jdbc.username = bigfish
        • jdbc.password = bigfish
        • * these are the default values so they should not require modification
    • 9. BigFish 'Seed' Data
      • From a command line navigate to the apache-ofbiz-12.04 directory located in your INSTALL_DIRECTORY
      • Type the command 'ant run-install-seed'.
      • If downloaded Ofbiz 13.07
        • Type the command 'ant load-seed'.
    • 10. Make sure that you receive email copies
      • in the client-deployment.properties file modify:
      • mail.notifications.redirectTo= [your email]
        • * for a demo app this will override all email communication; for a live application this should be left blank and then emails will be sent to the appropriate party
    • 11. Start BigFish eCommerce
      • From a command line navigate to the apache-ofbiz-12.04 directory located in your INSTALL_DIRECTORY
      • Type the command 'startofbiz'.
    • 12. Browse BigFish eCommerce Demo Site
    • 13. Browse BigFish eCommerce Administration Site
    • 14. Browse Apache Ofbiz Webtools
    • Update existing instance Instructions

      • 1. Download BigFish eCommerce
        • Download BigFish eCommerce from SVN: $ svn co http://bigfish.solveda.com:81/svn/bigfish/version/release1.23
        • Download BigFish eCommerce .zip: http://feedback.solveda.com/website/downloads/BigFish-deployment-v1.23.zip
        • Delete "hot-deploy" directory from the INSTALL-DIRECTORY. Also delete *INSTALL-DIRECTORY*\themes\osafe_theme.
        • Unpack BigFish eCommerce to the same INSTALL-DIRECTORY.
          • For ex: c:\Ofbiz
        • Accept 'Yes' to the prompt to 'overwrite' the build.xml file.
      • 2. Run BigFish Version
        • From a command line navigate to the apache-ofbiz-12.04 directory located in your INSTALL_DIRECTORY
        • If BigFish is still running, press 'Ctrl+C' to stop it.
        • Type the command 'ant build'.
        • Type the command 'ant run-bigfish-version'.
        • Type the command 'startofbiz' to start BF.

      Load Demo Data (OPTIONAL)

      • 1. BigFish 'Demo' Data
        • Download BigFish eCommerce Demo Theme
        • Unpack BigFish eCommerce Demo Data Deploy to the same INSTALL-DIRECTORY as in step 1.
          • For ex: c:\Ofbiz
        • Accept 'Yes' to the prompt to 'overwrite' all files.
      • 2. Load BigFish 'Demo' Data
        • Go to *INSTALL-DIRECTORY*\hot-deploy\osafe\data and retrieve file "ClientProductImport.xls".
        • Go to BigFish eCommerce Administration Site (https://localhost:8443/osafe-admin/control/main)
